Inside the ExOne production service center, the S-Max printer is used to create complex sand casting molds and cores printed directly from CAD data. The ExOne process of additive manufacturing for industrial applications allows for greater design freedom and reduces lead time and waste, according to the company.
To better serve its customers in the Puget Sound region, ExOne has opened an 11,600 sq. ft. Production Service Center (PSC). It will offer printed sand molds and cores for foundries in the northwestern U.S. corridor. "As the hub of industrial activity in the northwestern U.S., the greater Tacoma area is a natural location for ExOne's newest PSC," said a company spokesperson.
To celebrate the occasion, ExOne held an Open House with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured executives from ExOne as well as key leaders from the area. Following the ceremony, the Open House served as a celebration for the newly opened center and included appetizers and demonstrations.
