Modular Clamp Bends to Hold Parts at Any Angle

Strong Hand Tools has introduced the Third Hand modular clamp. The Third Hand is designed to be a fully articulated, adjustable modular clamp for holding parts at any position for hands-free access while a user tack welds, cuts, grinds, sands or paints.

Two smooth ball joints in the Third Hand allow users to rotate the clamp arm 360° and bend it to any position to give full access to a part during various processes. To use the Third Hand, users can lock and unlock the clamp position with a quick turn of socket head cap screws. The universal C-clamp base with a 2" opening is designed for mounting on any flat, square or angled surface.

The clamp has a 1-1/2" wide profile. "The Third Hand is portable enough to be used anywhere in the shop or carried along for work out in the field," said a company spokesperson.

According to the company, the Third Hand shaft can be mounted to the C-clamp base either vertically or horizontally for increased options in work positioning and clamping for operator comfort and workpiece access. Users may also place parts or stock directly in the slotted adaptor head. Pliers or sliding arm clamps may also be mounted for holding irregularly shaped, square, flat or angled stock.

Strong Hand Tools is a manufacturer of welding clamps, magnets, pliers and BuildPro welding tables.
