Enhanced Fiber Laser Technology

The NXF-4000 fiber laser from MC Machinery Systems and Mitsubishi, the NXF40, features 4 kW of power, almost double the wattage of its 2012 predecessor. The new fiber laser features an advanced beam, high-speed controls and a preset autofocus processing head designed for fast, accurate production.

"Suitable for a variety of applications, this machine especially excels at cutting high-volume, quick-turnaround batches of thinner gauge materials," said a company spokesperson. "Fiber lasers can handle up to and over 1 inch thick material, but serious gains in speed can be achieved with 1/2 inch and thinner.

"Because fiber laser technology relies on coiled fiber optics to deliver light to the head, rather than mirror-directed beams, significant space savings can be realized with fiber laser technology."
