Top Speed Disc for High-Volume Reaming Applications

The Diatool Top Speed Disc (TSD) from Monaghan Tooling Group features more blades to deliver 30% faster cycle times, making it suited for high volume reaming applications, the company reported.

The multiblade design features uneven spacing of cutting edges to create round and cylindrical bores. It arrives set to size and requires no additional set-up, delivering ready-to-cut functionality. Moreover, the holders are equipped with internal coolant as a standard feature. Available in standard sizes from 16 mm to 32 mm (0.63" to 1.26"), TSD is suited for high-volume, high-precision reaming applications in steel and grey cast iron components like yokes, engine blocks, rocker arms and more.

"The solid reamer body is more stable than comparable modular designs with multiple connections, which can produce tolerance stack up," said a company spokesperson. "The body is a one-time investment, while the disc can be replaced to OEM specs up to five times for overall cost savings and efficiency. Total cost of ownership is far less than comparable tooling options."

Designed with durability in mind, the straight fluted TSD ensures the optimal bevel lead geometry can be utilized for performance and chip control throughout its extensive service life, according to the company. A left-hand fluted design is also available for through hole applications.
