Kiski Precision Industries Acquires Alpha Carb Enterprises

Kiski Precision Industries (KPI) announced that it has acquired the operations of Alpha Carb Enterprises (ACE).

The two Leechburg-based industrial services companies have been neighbors for years-KPI at 531 Hyde Park Road and ACE at 691 Hyde Park Road. ACE manufactures carbide progressive stamping dies, carbide and steel die components and precision metal stampings. KPI offers high volume and contract manufacturing services, specializing in precision machining, welding, fabrication, wiring assembly and more.

"We only have a few overlapping customers and two overlapping services-machining and electrical discharge machining (EDM)-but KPI is new to EDM and has traditionally focused on machining and fabrication while ACE does less machining and much more EDM. The expansion of these services will provide our customers with significantly more capacity for all services provided," said Dave Holm, KPI President.

ACE has a 48-year history in the area, which included employing over 100 people at its peak. Holm intends to honor that and said all 24 ACE employees were offered jobs at KPI. Alpha's senior leadership are also staying on in their roles under KPI. Operations and customer project delivery from the 45,000 sq. ft. ACE shop floor are continuing as normal, Holm said.

"Regionally, this is meaningful. This is a well-known company that has provided our community with careers for decades. We are excited to carry on the legacy of the founder, Louis 'Bud' Leibert," Holm said. "With this acquisition, KPI makes a substantial investment in the future to provide for its employees. We believe this growth will become a recruiting tool as much as a product service enhancement."

KPI more than doubles its facility with the acquisition, jumping from 34,500 sq. ft. to 79,500 sq. ft., and gains a facility in excellent condition. The newly acquired resources will not only expand KPI's mechanical and wiring assembly services, but it will also add to KPI's growing suite of contract and high-volume services.
