Automation Solutions from a Single Source

DMG MORI is a pioneer of digitalization in machine tool construction and considers automation to be a core topic.

The CMX 1100 V can be equipped with MATRIS, which enables mass production to start quickly by utilizing pre-configured modules combined with variable-based robot programming for easy part changeovers.

The DMU 50 3rd Generation is available with the PH 150 pallet handling system.

Automated machines are crucial components of a digital factory and are therefore an integral part of Industry 4.0. DMG MORI, a machine tool manufacturer, considers automation to be a core topic. At IMTS, DMG MORI presented its PH 150 pallet handling system, LPP multi-layer pallet pool system, 21 RPP space-saving automation solution, as well as its flexible GX gantry loader in the new VERTICO design. The locally produced CMX 1100 V was featured with the workpiece handling MATRIS. DMG MORI also has extended its portfolio with the Robo2Go 2nd Generation, a mobile robotic automation system.

Automated machine tools as part of future-oriented production provide users with a high degree of competitiveness, which is why DMG MORI's goal is to help its customers create the best possible automation solution for every application. The reasons for automation are as diverse as the possible automation solutions. Cost-effectiveness, flexibility and reliability are just three examples of the possible benefits. Only an automation solution has a higher level of repeat accuracy than any manual workpiece clamping and unclamping operation. The introduction of automation solutions requires extensive planning following an initial needs assessment.

DMG MORI offers a wide range of pallet and workpiece handling systems, and supplements its range of standard automation systems with application-specific solutions, which can be individually tailored to customers' needs with the aid of robots. These turn-key solutions link any number of machines and process-supporting work steps to one another. The integral range of services extends from planning and simulation to the final handover of the turn-key complete system.

The fact that automation solutions are designed, integrated and implemented by DMG MORI is beneficial for customers. DMG MORI supplies the complete solution, all as a single source: machines, process, qualified DMG MORI peripherals, automation and complete system runoff.

The extensive support provided begins in the conceptual stage and extends through the life of the product. Management of the entire project by a single source reduces unnecessary interfaces and costs typically associated with customized automation solutions.

With "Integrated Digitization," DMG MORI is pushing digitization in machine tool construction forward. One key component in this regard is the automation of machine tools. The CNC technology must be directly integrated into a networked production environment. In this situation, operators only have to monitor and manage operations while the machines independently work through the orders according to their priority. It is precisely this aspect that characterizes a digital factory: the necessary components are completely machined-automatically and at the push of a button.
