A bore gauge setting tool from Mahr Inc. is designed to make setting up adjustable indicating instruments, such as Mahr's 844 N Adjustable Bore Gage and 844 T Universal I.D./O.D. gage, quick and accurate. The Multimar 844 S Bore Gage Setting Tool uses gauge block combinations and a simple hand clamping mechanism to set instruments in either the horizontal or vertical position.
A new bore gauge setting tool from Mahr Inc. is designed to make setting up adjustable indicating instruments, such as Mahr's 844 N Adjustable Bore Gage and 844 T Universal I.D./O.D. gauge, quick and accurate. The Multimar 844 S Bore Gage Setting Tool uses gauge block combinations and a simple hand clamping mechanism to set instruments in either the horizontal or vertical position.
"Typically, adjustable bore gauges are set using micrometers or master rings," said George Schuetz, Mahr Director of Precision Gages. "But micrometers have inherent errors that can be passed along to the gauge, and master rings can be expensive, especially if one is required for each of many sizes on the shop floor. Using a bore setting gauge with a gauge block stack assembly in a clamp with jaws at both ends provides a highly accurate reference master."
The rigid base of the Multimar 844 S Bore Gage Setting Tool is made of anodized aluminum for mobile or stationary use, either in the lab or on the production floor. Three sizes are available, 15.5", 45" and 85.8", along with a wide range of accessories for various gauge types.
