Morris Midwest (www.morrismidwest.com), a division of Morris Group, Inc., will hold its seventh annual open house and technology show, Morris Madness, March 13-14 in Roselle, IL. The event will feature machines from Okuma, Tsugami and Hardinge, alongside productivity specialists and engineers who will relay the latest industry advancements. Tooling and accessories from dozens of suppliers also will be displayed.
Making its debut at Morris Madness is Desktop Metal's Studio System 3-D printer. "It is the first office-friendly, metal 3-D printing system to be introduced to the market," said a company spokesperson. "The new Okuma GENOS M460V-5AX 5-Axis vertical machining center (VMC) also will be introduced to the region at the event.
"Technology is continually evolving, and it is critically important that manufacturers evolve with it to stay competitive," said Craig Hahne, Vice President of Sales at Morris Midwest. "The theme-Educate, Update, Automate-reflects the focus of our event this year."
More than 20 CNC machine tools will run live cutting demos at the event. Machine models will include horizontal lathes from the Okuma GENOS and LB-EX Series; the Okuma GA15W x 25 Grinder; the Okuma MB-5000H horizontal machining center (HMC); the Okuma LT2000 EX-2T2MY Twin Turret, Twin Spindle Turning Center; the Okuma MU-5000V 5-Axis VMC; the GENOS M560-V VMC; several Swiss-type CNC lathes from Tsugami/Rem Sales, plus the Tsugami SS327-5AX 5-axis turning center and a LaserSwiss model, in addition to other machinery selected to meet area manufacturers' needs.

Morris Midwest shares its Roselle facility with Okuma America Corporation and Tsugami/Rem Sales. Equipped with training and presentation rooms, the facility doubles as a regional technical center for Okuma and its partners in THINC program. Event hours are 9 AM to 5 PM.
