MTConnect Adapter for Machine Tool Data Collection

FANUC America Corporation has introduced the FANUC MTConnect Server (FANUC MTC), a new MTConnect adapter that lets FOCAS-enabled FANUC CNCs share operations data with any MTConnect client application. FANUC MTConnect Server is engineered to allow machine tool builders and end users to quickly and easily add MTConnect functionality to their machine so that machine data can be collected using the standard MTConnect protocol. With the MTConnect standard, machine tools and other manufacturing equipment can provide data in a standardized structured XML format, eliminating the confusion of handling multiple proprietary formats.

FANUC MTC is available on FANUC Series 30i/31i/32i-MODEL A, Series 30i/31i/32i/35i-MODEL B, Series 0i-MODEL D and Series 0i-MODEL F controls.

Communication Flow

FANUC FOCAS libraries access data from the CNC via Ethernet and pass it through to the FANUC MTC adapter. FANUC MTC converts this data to a uniform structured XML format and passes it on to the MTConnect agent. FANUC MTC supports Windows 7 and 10 operating systems, and can be installed on an industrial PC, embedded PC or other PC at the machine tool. The FANUC MTC package consists of the FANUC MTConnect adapter and a standard MTConnect agent, however it can be connected to an existing MTConnect agent if one is available. The simple Windows UI makes configuration quick and easy.
