Vertical Plate Saw

Behringer offers its new compact heavy duty plate saw LPS-T with vertical bandsaw blade and featuring a number of user-friendly variations.

The LPS-T comes with a linear guided material table with a support surface that provides a cutting capacity of 50" L, 24.4" W and 24" H. Flexible positioning and clamping of the material is achieved using T-slots in the table, which enables optimum positioning of fixtures or clamps.

A new feature is the optional NC measuring device that is designed to significantly simplify set-up processes. After entering the required cutting depth, the measuring device enables automatic positioning. The material can be rapidly placed and aligned, providing greater flexibility and higher precision during the day-to-day work of the machine.

Both the saw and the NC measuring device are controlled by an ergonomically designed and easy-to-operate BT65 touch control panel. The self-explanatory symbol-based menu system makes for faster familiarization of new operators and simplifies machine handling.

Saw feed in the LPS-T takes place using ball screws with servo drive. A cutting pressure control system links the servo feed to a sensitive cutting pressure regulation system. "This produces a constant level of chip removal and overall higher cutting outputs than is possible using conventional systems, along with reliable overload protection of the saw blade. The result is reduced cutting costs due to longer blade life and improved accuracy and cut quality," said a company spokesperson.

The LPS-T can run either bimetal or carbide saw blades, and is driven with a 5.4 HP drive motor and runs over large wear-proof band wheels. All blade guidance parts are made of vibration-proof grey cast iron. Bandsaw changeover has also now been made even easier, and can be completed in around two minutes without the aid of tools and by a single operator.

Electrically powered chip brushes, arranged on both sides of the blade, clear the saw blade of chips synchronously to the blade speed. The machine is standard with an emulsion cooling lubricant system, and an environmentally friendly micro-dispensing spray mist lubrication device is available as an option.
