Manufacturer Obtains Agency Ratings, Certifications for Cleaning Unit

Omegasonics, a manufacturer of ultrasonic cleaning systems, announced it has obtained CE Marking Certification, Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Certification and Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Certification for its SST4030 ultrasonic parts cleaner. The cleaning unit was specifically created to accommodate the print capacity of the Stratasys mc900 3D FDM printing system.

"Having secured these certifications for the SST4030, the industries that have embraced 3-D printing technology can be confident that this ultrasonic cleaning unit will consistently perform within the safety parameters required by the CE, CSA and UL," said Frank Pedeflous, President of Omegasonics.

"The CE mark signifies that Omegasonics' SST4030 cleaning unit complies with the mandatory requirements of relevant European health, safety and environmental protection legislation," said a company spokesperson. "This 187-gallon capacity ultrasonic parts cleaner enables 3-D printing companies to remove soluble support structure from a printed part as large as 3' x 2-1/2' x 3', and significantly reduces the time, labor and costs associated with cleaning 3-D prototypes."

The CSA mark indicates that the Omegasonics' SST4030 has been certified by an accredited third-party laboratory and has met applicable safety standards as required by North American law.

"The CSA standards used in Canada are considered equivalent to the safety standards required by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) in the United States," said the spokesperson. "Both are widely acknowledged as legitimate certifying agencies, and each agency recognizes the others' standards and approvals. With the CSA approval, Omegasonics SST4030 now also meets UL safety standards."

UL is a global safety science organization that fosters safe and secure working conditions through the application of science. The UL mark engenders trust, enabling the safe adoption of products and technologies.
