Plastic Components, Inc. Announces New CEO

Plastic Components, Inc. (PCI), an engineered plastic injection molding company focused on automation, technology and innovative manufacturing processes, announced that its board of directors has selected J. Derrill Rice as President and Chief Executive Officer following the company's recent recapitalization by MPE Partners. PCI founder and former CEO Tom Duffey remains involved as an advisor to the board of directors.

Rice will provide strategic leadership for PCI's operations based in Germantown, WI. The PCI leadership team will continue to focus on adding to the current manufacturing capacity and capabilities that support customers' expanding needs for efficiently produced, high-volume and complex plastic parts through both organic and inorganic growth.

"Derrill's passion for our mission, appreciation for discovering and implementing the most innovative processes and global business experience make him uniquely qualified to lead PCI during this transformative and exciting time for the company," said Board Chair Peter Taft.

Rice comes to PCI after most recently serving as President and GM of the $1.2B Aerospace, Defense & Marine division of TE Connectivity, Ltd.

"What excites me most about joining PCI is the opportunity to become a member of such a strong team along with the company's great growth potential," said Rice. "PCI delivers precision engineered thermoplastic components. The diversity of market applications for our products and services continues to expand."

Derrill is a graduate of Presbyterian College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business and mathematics. He later earned his MBA from Clemson University and has held various executive positions with International Textile Group, Interface Inc., CMI Industries and others.
