Royal Machine is co-sponsoring the LaBella Racing Team and Caterina LaBella, the Legends Racing International (INEX) 2015 Sportsmen of the Year Driver, who will be driving her #03 LaBella 37 Chevy Bubble Coupe throughout New England during the 2017 INEX Weekend Series.
LaBella Racing of Plainville, CT, has selected Royal Machine & Tool Corp. as one of its primary supporters in its quest for INEX Racing Division Victories.
"We are extremely pleased to have become a sponsor of the LaBella Racing Team with its 2014 Rookie of the Year and 2015 Sportsmen of the Year Driver, Caterina LaBella," said Guy Byrne, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Royal Machine. "Our demographic research and surveys indicate that a majority of our customers and prospects in the metalworking industry are officials, crew members and car racing fans who heavily support and attend Legends Racing International (INEX) Weekend Races. And, as a primary LaBella co-sponsor and with Royal Machine being continually promoted at future races, we will gain even greater customer/prospect awareness as Caterina and LaBella Racing continue their original goal of climbing up the ranks of the local INEX Racing Division. In addition, we plan on having our automotive industry engineering group assist LaBella's Racing Team by sharing their 50 years of talents and experience."
The LaBella Racing Team was formed in 2013 to compete in the Legends Racing International (INEX) Circuit, which features a "spec" series of mechanically identical cars available in 10 types of body styles. Caterina's power of choice is a 37 Chevy Bubble Coupe with a 1200 Yamaha Engine.
Legends Racing International (INEX) was founded in 1992 when Charlotte Motor Speedway (formerly Lowe's Motor Speedway) officials noticed a need for lower cost racing cars requiring little maintenance time and cost. The "dwarf size" concept of cars was selected of those resembling the '30s and '40s as they competed in the early NASCAR modified tour races. The first Legends Car was unveiled in April 1992 by then President Humpy Wheeler and Road Racer Elliot Forbes-Robinson. "Legends Cars are currently produced by U.S. Legends Cars International in Harrisburg, NC, the largest mass producer of racing cars in the world," said a spokesperson. Currently Legend Car Racing is hosted in Canada, England and Scotland and each November world finals are held in the United States. Former Legends Racing drivers include Dave Ragan, Joey Logano, Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch.
