High Precision Multi Tool Electro Spindles

ITI Tooling Company's ATC series of electro spindles with built-in multi station tool carrier has been developed to gain optimum performance on production machines and robots when multiple operations or redundant tooling is required. They are designed for drilling, milling, grinding and tapping as well as precision turning and boring operations.

"An electro spindle usually has a single tool," said a company spokesperson. "When that tool becomes worn or when additional tools are required to complete a machining operation, the spindle must then go through a tool change procedure, which can take 20-30 seconds. With our multi tool spindle, the tool exchanger is built into the spindle assembly and the tool exchange is performed within a couple of seconds."

Featuring durable construction and a low maintenance design, these high performance spindle assemblies are available in six different frame sizes ranging from 6" to 17" in diameter. Speeds range from 14,000 to 80,000 RPM and power up to 40 HP. They are available with up to eight tools that link directly to the spindle bore via a precision HSK connection. "All spindles utilize precision bearings that provide accuracy and rigidity with no vibration or chatter, and the unique sealing system ensures longevity even in the most demanding environments," said the spokesperson.

These ATC series spindle units are available with either a flange or foot type mounting and can be used in any orientation, making the installation simple and easy.
