The AZ AEROSPACE line of grinding machines from AZ SpA is built for the aerospace industry. These machines are designed for mechanical aerospace components such as landing gears and turbo spindles.
The machine beds are made of Composital or cast iron. Composital is a resin-granite mixture that helps to reduce vibration on the machine. The tailstock has constant hydraulic pressure controlled by the load cell. The workpiece clamping system can be customized.
AZ grinders can be equipped with a range of wheelhead configurations: straight, angular, internal and B-axis, which is driven by an integrated torque motor. Silicon carbide, corundum, CBN and diamond grinding wheels allow grinding of different materials and surface treatments including chromium and HVOF.

The landing gear external grinding machines with a gap has a maximum swing on the gap of 3,600 mm, a swing over the table of 1,000 - 1,200 mm and a workpiece length of 1,250 - 5,000 mm. On the internal landing gear grinding machines the maximum internal grinding diameter is 350 mm; the minimum internal grinding diameter (diameter x length) is 40 x 1,000 mm, 40 x 2,000 mm and 40 x 3,000 mm; the maximum workpiece dimensions (diameter x length) are 800 x 1,000 mm, 90 x 2,000 mm and 1,000 x 3,000 mm; the maximum swing is 1,200 mm and the maximum workpiece length is 6,000 mm.
