SORALUCE HGP65 5-axis high-rail gantry machine demonstrated at Soraluce Summit 2026
Soraluce recently unveiled its new HGP65 5-axis high-rail gantry machining center at the Soraluce Summit 2026, introducing a machine engineered to meet the demanding requirements of large mold and die manufacturers while delivering the flexibility and precision required for other high-precision applications.
Developed to address increasing demands for accuracy, productivity, and flexibility when machining large, complex components, the HGP combines a spacious work envelope with advanced 5-axis performance. As configured, the HGP65 provides 6.5 m (255.9") of longitudinal travel, 3.5 m (137.8") of cross travel and 1.5 m (59") of vertical travel. For larger workpieces, the machine's modular design allows the longitudinal axis to be extended well beyond the standard travel, enabling manufacturers to tailor the platform to their specific production requirements.
At the heart of the new machine is Soraluce's newly developed fork-type 5-axis milling head, designed and manufactured entirely in-house. Engineered for high rigidity and stable kinematics during simultaneous 5-axis machining, the head enables manufacturers to efficiently machine complex geometries while minimizing set-up time and workpiece repositioning.
Powering the HGP65 is a 60 kW (80 HP) spindle capable of reaching 16,000 RPM and delivering 160 Nm (118 ft-lbs.) of torque.
"This combination of power, speed, and precision supports a wide range of roughing and finishing operations, helping manufacturers achieve demanding dimensional and surface-finish requirements while maximizing productivity," said a company spokesperson.
The HGP joins Soraluce's Dynamic Line of high-rail gantry machines and, according to the company, is the most dynamic platform in the family. Demonstrated live during the Soraluce Summit, the machine showcased acceleration rates of up to 4 m/s2 and longitudinal feedrates of 60 m/min, reducing noncutting time and improving overall machining efficiency. The platform is also available with a high-speed 20,000-RPM electrospindle configuration for applications requiring exceptional productivity and surface quality.
The HGP65 is well-suited for large mold and die applications, where dimensional accuracy, surface finish and process reliability are critical. Its combination of machining capacity, dynamic performance and 5-axis capability also makes it an effective solution for a variety of other high-precision applications involving large and geometrically complex components.
