FMB Solar CN Debuts at FABTECH

Pat Mooney Saws has announced the FMB Solar CN Vertical Tilt Bandsaw, a high-production, CNC-controlled structural cutting system engineered for steel fabricators and manufacturers requiring greater throughput, precision, and automation. Designed for heavy-duty structural steel and profile cutting, the Solar CN combines robust hydraulics, intelligent controls, and rigid construction to streamline production and reduce operator intervention, the company reported.
Automated CN Angle Positioning allows operators to enter the desired miter angle through the touchscreen interface, while a hydraulic cylinder automatically positions the saw head up to 60° left or right. A 4.5° canted saw head improves blade engagement with the material, delivering up to 20% faster cutting speeds while extending blade life, noted the company.
Full-width hydraulic clamping, dynamic feed control, and a massive cast-aluminum/steel saw head traveling on precision linear guides help ensure straight, accurate cuts through heavy structural materials and dense alloys.
