The manufacturing process does not end with turning. Large rotor shafts can require extensive secondary machining across their length and circumference. For these operations, Ekaras offers the FPT Spirit, a hydrostatic milling platform developed for large, complex, high precision components.
Hydrostatic guideways provide the Spirit with the rigidity, damping, accuracy, and smooth axis motion required for demanding machining requirements. Combined with FPT's range of interchangeable milling heads, the platform can address precision milling, drilling, boring, and complex feature machining across large workpieces without limiting the process to a single spindle configuration.
