Methods Machine Tools has introduced the Nakamura-Tome JX-50 mill-turn machining solution. The next-generation ATC-type, B-axis JX-50 combines compact size, high speed, and advanced capabilities suited for small, complex production parts for applications such as medical devices, IT infrastructure, and aerospace and defense.
Measuring just 13.9" by 7.8" (including chip tank and chip conveyor), the JX-50 features a twin-spindle configuration with an upper tool spindle and lower turret designed for efficient, flexible machining. The X-axis on the right spindle enables simultaneous machining without interference, keeping more tools in the cut per part.
Standard features include Nakamura-Tome's propriety NT Smart Cube, a 30,000-RPM compact tool spindle measuring just 15.7" long, combined with 9,000 RPM milling and Y-axis lower turret and 6,000 RPM left and right spindles. The ATC holds 60 tools standard with options up to 119 tools. Nakamura-Tome's ChronoCut software delivers chip-to-chip time of 3.3 seconds.
