MC Machinery Systems offers the OPS Ingersoll HIGH SPEED EAGLE V9 designed for high-speed milling in demanding tool & die, moldmaking, aerospace, medical, and precision manufacturing applications.
At the core of the V9 is OPS Ingersoll's patented gantry machine concept, featuring a dual gantry drive on the X and Y axes that offers increased acceleration while maintaining rigidity throughout the machining process.
"This innovative design minimizes vibration during cutting, extending tool life while producing the superior surface quality and dimensional accuracy today's manufacturers demand," said a company spokesperson. "Unlike conventional machining centers that sacrifice stability at higher feedrates, the V9 is built to maintain precision even under aggressive machining conditions."
The machine's polymer concrete base further enhances performance by providing vibration damping and thermal stability. This foundation helps isolate the machining process from environmental temperature fluctuations, allowing shops to maintain accuracy even in facilities where ambient conditions change throughout the day. The result is greater process consistency and improved repeatability, the company noted.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the HIGH SPEED EAGLE V9 is available in 3-axis and 5-axis configurations, enabling manufacturers to machine everything from complex electrodes and precision mold components to intricate production parts. An expansive work envelope, generous payload capacity, and multiple spindle options allow the machine to adapt to a wide range of applications. Integrated tool changers with capacities of up to 88 tools — and optional expanded tool storage — support long, uninterrupted production runs while minimizing operator intervention.
The V9 incorporates advanced HEIDENHAIN controls along with intelligent software features that continuously optimize machining performance. Available technologies such as Precision Spindle Compensation, Position & Geometric Compensation, Active Component Temperature Control, Advanced Motion Control, and High Precision Cycle work together to minimize thermal influences, compensate for machine geometry, and maximize positioning accuracy throughout the machining process. For manufacturers requiring the highest levels of precision, the Precision Line configuration offers sub-10-micron accuracy in 5-axis machining through comprehensive thermal management and volumetric machine calibration.
Automation is another defining advantage of the V9. The machine is designed to integrate seamlessly with pallet handling systems, tool management, and third-party automation platforms, enabling lights-out manufacturing and increasing spindle utilization. Whether producing a single complex mold component or running high-mix, low-volume production, manufacturers can automate repetitive tasks while maintaining precision.
The HIGH SPEED EAGLE V9 also offers application versatility. Multiple spindle configurations, dry and wet machining capabilities, graphite extraction, oil mist collection, coolant management, and aerosol lubrication options allow shops to configure the machine specifically for their production environment. This flexibility enables manufacturers to process graphite, hardened steels, aluminum, and other high-performance materials using a single, highly capable platform, according to the company.
