Built for manufacturers facing smaller batch sizes, increasingly complex components, challenging materials, and pressure to reduce lead times, the CHIRON MT 715 combines 5-axis milling, turning, automation, and complete six-sided machining in one flexible platform.

The machine supports bar-fed and chuck-fed machining, allowing manufacturers to adapt production to a wide variety of components. The big advantage — go from raw material to a completely finished part in one machine. With complete six-sided machining, the MT 715 brings milling and turning together and, depending on the application, even gear-cutting processes can be integrated. That means fewer set-ups, less handling, and shorter lead times.
For larger and more demanding components, the MT 715 offers a working area for parts up to Ø400 mm x 1,400 mm. With spindle speeds up to 20,000 RPM, a directly driven torque swivel head for simultaneous 5-axis machining, and equally powerful main and counter spindles, the machine is built to handle complex parts with speed, precision, and flexibility, the company reported.
"But machining the part is only part of the productivity equation," noted the spokesperson. "What happens between cycles matters, too."
That is where integrated automation comes in. The MT 715 can be configured for automated loading and unloading, helping manufacturers keep production moving while reducing manual intervention. With up to 176 tools available and a documented 3.9-second tool change, the next tool is ready when it is needed, meaning less nonproductive time and more time making parts.
