One-Piece Toolholders Provide Extra Reach and Support

Albrecht ER Micro-Chucks from Royal Products are one-piece toolholders that provide extra reach and support for drills and endmills when using driven tooling.

"While driven tools often run into clearance issues, the Albrecht ER Micro-Chuck overcomes this and gives small diameter cutting tools superior accuracy and rigidity over length," said a company spokesperson.

ER Micro-Chucks are engineered to provide high accuracy and increased rigidity, resulting in more aggressive chip removal, faster cycle times and improved cutting tool life.

"The integral ER body, super slim nose and ultra-precision collets work in unison for optimized clearance and enhanced vibration dampening over shrink-fit holders," said the spokesperson.

Available in three popular ER configurations for compatibility with many brands of driven tools, these ER Micro-Chucks feature high accuracy of 3 microns (0.00012") at 2.5 x diameter and are high-speed balanced to G2.5 @ 40,000 RPM.

The collets are available from stock in inch and metric sizes with a choice of precise coolant delivery options: standard, where coolant is directed through the collet slots over the cutting tool; and sealed, where coolant is directed through the center of the cutting tool (for cutting tools that have central coolant ports). Simple axial tightening reduces set-up time.
