Multi-Functional 3D Metal Printer

The LPM325 from Sodick is a multi-functional additive manufacturing (AM) machine that performs high speed metal 3D printing through melting and solidifying a uniform layer of metal powder with laser machining. The LPM325 also provides integrated reference surface machining.

The LPM325 is available in two specifications corresponding to the volume of high-speed metal 3D printing. The standard specification machine is the simplest system, in which metal powder supply and discharge are all handled by the operator.

The MRS specification machine is a system that fully automates all processes from metal powder supply to discharge supporting long-term continuous operation. "This option ensures stable 3D metal printing in all situations," said a company spokesperson.

The LPM325 incorporates the latest Sodick NC device RM4RP that was developed and manufactured to provide a high level of performance and maintain a user friendly environment. In addition, the Sodick developed LS-BEAMS (CAM software for providing the 3D print program directly from the CAD model) further enhances Sodick's user friendly focus.

"The Sodick development team ensured that 3D printing of aluminum parts would become a reality with the LPM325. The advanced machining chamber and fume extraction design brings this frequently requested capability to life," said the spokesperson.

"The LPM325's high speed printing capability and reference face machining ensures this new model will be a success across all industries," said Dave Thomas, Executive Vice President.
