Autonomous 24/7 Tool Inspection

ZOLLER has introduced additions to its automation and tool measuring technology portfolio.

The ZOLLER automated solution »roboSet 2« for tool measuring and handling is the latest in a series of connected manufacturing and tool inspection solutions. The »roboSet 2«, designed to be a fast and compact solution, is suitable for tool manufacturers with high tool throughput who need 100% tool monitoring and logging. When networked directly with the ZOLLER »genius« universal measuring machine, »roboSet 2« can process tools around the clock, 7 days a week, completely autonomously, enabling lights-out production. Featuring a multi-pallet system and double gripper, it can process and document large numbers of tools automatically. "The machine also guarantees maximum process security and measuring accuracy through automatic path correction during feeding and a loading system that is mechanically decoupled from the measuring machine," said a company spokesperson. "All one has to do is define the tool by using the pallet management in the operating software, start the automatic operations and »roboSet 2« handles the rest automatically: from loading, measuring and removing tools, to sorting out faulty tools, archiving measured values and issuing measured values on logs."

The ZOLLER »genius« is a universal measuring machine for tools. It enables quick inspection of individual criteria on tools or a fully automatic and user-independent complete check, allowing tools to be checked quickly and precisely. Measuring results are documented in detail and can be transferred with a simple click. This means that the »genius« saves time in tool production as well as in tool rework preparation and programming and helps ensure consistent quality.

"Together, these new solutions only help to add to the strength and adaptability of the ZOLLER solutions product line," said a company spokesperson. "Moving towards a future where lights-out production is an achievable reality is just another way that ZOLLER helps bridge the gap for companies looking to make the most out of their tool inspection and manufacturing process by increasing their capacity."
