Sinker EDM for Small Part Machining
July 1, 2018
The entry level ZNC-EDM 250 from KNUTH is designed to provide users with a low-cost sinker type EDM with NC controlled feed on the Z-axis. With an 18" x 11" table, 10" x 8" travel and an 8" quill stroke, its compact design allows for machining of small and medium sized parts without using much floor space, with up to a 66-lb. electrode.
"The ZNC-EDM 250 is a low-maintenance and highly efficient machine; its design allows operators to easily program and store parameters at the control panel," said a KNUTH spokesperson. The machine is designed with a rigid base, separate dielectric reservoir and linear scales on all axes to ensure constant precision. Standard safety features include a flame sensor and fire extinguishing system. Due to its size and ease-of-use, the ZNC-EDM 250 is suitable for schools, tool rooms and low production applications.
The series also includes larger full CNC models including the ZNC 435L and 760L. KNUTH also offers bi-directional wire EDM models in the NeoSpark line. KNUTH ZNC-EDM machines ship from the company's full-service facility near Chicago.
