Sodick, Materialise Announce Partnership to Promote AM
November 1, 2017
Sodick Inc and Materialise NV have partnered to promote additive manufacturing (AM). This partnership brings together Sodick's 40 years of experience supplying traditional manufacturers with the expertise of Materialise in AM design optimization.
"Sodick's deep inroads with small and large manufacturers alike are expected to help accelerate AM adoption across all stratifications of the U.S. manufacturing industry," said a Sodick spokesperson. "Sodick's hybrid DMLS 3-D printer is designed to bring the quality of AM parts in line with the expectations of traditional manufacturers, in terms of both finishing and part strength. The OPM line of 3-D printer achieves 99.99% density to eliminate porousness in parts, and can achieve surface finishes as low as 0.22 µm Ra (9 RMS)."
"Materialise has been a pioneer in AM design optimization, with software offerings such as Magics and SG+ that enable users to easily design and edit support structures necessary to reliably print accurate 3-D parts," said a Materialise spokesperson.
"This partnership makes Sodick the first hybrid DMLS manufacturer to also offer design optimization solutions," said the Sodick spokesperson.
