Improved Product Development Features for CAD/CAM Software
November 1, 2017
ZW3D has upgraded the product development features of its ZW3D 2017 CAD/CAM software. Included are improved data exchange translator and modeling interactions, new mold functions and enhanced 5-axis milling controls.
With its upgraded data exchange translator, ZW3D 2017 supports mainstream file formats generated by up-to-date CAD solutions like Catia V5/6R2016, NX11, Creo 3.0, SolidWorks 2017, SolidEdge ST9 and Inventor 2017. It enables engineers to maximize data reuse utility and access the latest 3-D data.
Modeling interactions are now more user-friendly. Users can display independent objects easily with the new Show Only option, which saves time in finding, showing or hiding objects or components. Variables can be locked or hidden, making it more convenient to drag and drop to reorder them.
Offering greater flexibility for mold makers are two new advancements: Inch DME mold bases and general standard parts. With improved general features in the Library, users can measure distance on the form, retain the last parameters and reuse them in the next operation.
The ZW3D 2017 CAM module has added two 5-axis controls to Z level and offset 3-D operation, including 5-axis point control and 3-axis to 5-axis undercut. Users can now mill the back-off shape with more efficiency and extend the 5-axis milling capability.
