Hoffmann Group Names CEO



Effective January 1, 2017, Dr. Robert Blackburn will take over as the Chair of the Board of Executive Directors at Hoffmann Group.

Hoffmann Group has appointed Dr. Robert Blackburn the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Effective January 1, 2017, he will take over as Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors with the aim of promoting growth both nationally and internationally and of leading Hoffmann Group into the digital age.

"Dr. Robert Blackburn is considered internationally to be a leading mind with strategic vision and a pioneer in the field of digitalization," said a company spokesperson. As President of Supply Chain Operations & Information Services at BASF Group he led the global transformation and digitalization of the chemical giant, amongst other responsibilities.

Dr. Blackburn said, "I am looking forward to taking on the challenges of Hoffmann with a clear vision and a long-term strategy - together with the employees. I am convinced that together, we will continue the success of Hoffmann in the future."

Before joining BASF in 2007, Dr. Blackburn held leadership roles at IBM and Deloitte. Today, Dr. Blackburn chairs and holds membership on several supervisory boards and lectures at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Born in the USA, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the universities of Maryland and Heidelberg, and obtained a Master's degree in the field of Management from the University of Virginia. He subsequently gained his doctorate in Economics at the Julius-Maximilius University of Würzburg.
