Dovetail Fixture Combines Dovetail Mount, Spring-Loaded Clamping System

Raptor Workholding Products has introduced its latest dovetail fixture: RWP-038SS. "It has a 0.75-inch wide dovetail and utilizes two stainless steel clamps for holding strength," said a company spokesperson. "The RWP-038SS is made specifically for the HAAS TRT-100 but is adaptable to fit on many small rotary tables and lathes with a sub-plate."
The RWP-038SS is built for use in milling applications on either a 4-axis or 5-axis CNC machine. The fixture design, combining a dovetail mount and spring-loaded clamping system, allows for workpieces to be held by the bottom side that has been prepped with a matching dovetail. This allows for full access to the top and all sides of a workpiece. The clamps typically only require 1/8" of material to hold the workpiece in place. "This means less material is wasted," said the spokesperson.
The RWP-038SS will hold a workpiece that weighs up to 18 lbs. and may range in size from 2" x 1.75" x 0.5" up to 5.75" x 5.75" x 5.75".
