Cimquest Manufacturing Solutions is introducing exclusive IRIS (Internal-Rapid-Inspection-Scanning) technology to add to the arsenal of solutions it provides, bridging the technology gap present between its core products: Mastercam CAD/CAM and Stratasys 3D Printing.
"IRIS technology uses cross-sectional scanning to allow for 3D inspection of injection molded parts and is one of the only scanning technologies to provide scanning of internal part features. What typically takes weeks can be accomplished in a matter of hours," said a company spokesperson.
"The unique IRIS 3D Cross Sectional Scanning process produces a highly accurate, three-dimensional point cloud ready for analysis, thus capturing both internal and external features of complex injection-molded parts. Reverse Rapid Prototyping scans the part one ultra-thin layer at a time, generating millions of data points while accurately reproducing the internal and external surfaces of the part," said the spokesperson.
This technology will be offered as a service through Rapid Inspection LLC, a subsidiary of Cimquest, Inc.
