Clean and Enhance Paint Adhesion in One Step

Madison Chemical has introduced SurfTreat CLEANBOND W, a precise blend of phosphates, surfactants, dispersants, and activators that cleans and enhances paint adhesion on ferrous, aluminum, and zinc metals in one easy step.

Specifically formulated to eliminate the need for a water rinse after application, this economical cleaner-phosphate is suited for hand-spray or spray wand applications. For most applications, adjust the metering equipment to obtain a 1.0% to 3.0% by volume concentration at the nozzle. The temperature of the solution when it contacts the part should be between 100-180 °F. Average contact time of 30-60 seconds will vary depending on equipment settings and soil conditions. When used properly, no rinse is needed after application. For optimum salt spray resistance, remove unreacted product residues and other salts by following SurfTreat CLEANBOND W treatment with a thorough clean water rinse and or a sealing rinse.

With low to moderate foam characteristics, it is safe for use on ferrous, aluminum, and zinc when used as directed. The pH of use solutions should typically be in the range of 4.5 to 6, with the optimal pH dependent on water conditions, soils, temperature, and time of contact.
