Nick Kohm
Premier Equipment has added Nick Kohm as Sales Engineer, bringing a familiar face into the company's used CNC machinery sales team after years of working around the business through warehouse summers and college sales experience.
Kohm joined Premier on Aug. 3 after graduating from LSU with a background in marketing and professional sales. Before joining the sales team full time, he spent summers in Premier's warehouse cleaning and preparing machines. During college, he also interned with the company and made outbound calls to customers about buying and selling CNC equipment.
The hire adds another generation to a company already shaped by long family involvement. Premier's history began with the Grabenau family, and the Kohm family line now adds another layer of continuity inside a business built around used CNC machinery, customer trust, and practical equipment knowledge.
"It means a lot to share what I know with Nick and have him learn from the group we have here," said Tom Kohm, President and CEO of Premier Equipment. "This business is about taking care of customers for the long run and doing things the right way. That is how it was taught to me, and that is how we want the next generation to learn it."
Used CNC machinery sales is hard to learn from a desk. Machines vary by condition, application, market demand, service history, control, capacity, and timing. There is no simple Blue Book value for a used CNC machine, and buyers often need experienced guidance before making six figure equipment decisions.
Premier gives Kohm a hands-on place to learn that judgment. The company maintains a large used CNC inventory in Altamonte Springs, FL, with warehouse access, service support, and direct answers when machines are on site. Premier's team can power up many machines in its facility, review equipment with service technicians and help customers think through fit, timing, financing, and next steps.
"I was raised around Premier," Kohm said. "I have known most of the people here for a long time, and I am excited to learn from my dad and the rest of the sales team. In this business, trust matters. Customers are relying on you to help them make the right call on a machine, and that relationship has to be earned."
The announcement comes as U.S. manufacturing continues to need younger talent. For Premier, that need reaches beyond machinists and engineers. It also includes the people helping manufacturers buy, sell, and understand used CNC equipment.
