Metrologic Group and DCS Unite

Metrologic Group and Dimensional Control Systems (DCS) have united to form Metrologic DCS, a new brand within the Intelligent Manufacturing business area of the Sandvik Group.

Metrologic Group and DCS now officially operate as Metrologic DCS, a single, integrated organization within Sandvik. This consolidation is purpose-built to address the growing complexity of quality management in modern manufacturing. Metrologic DCS combines industrial metrology and dimensional engineering expertise, while Metrologic Group contributes its universal 3D metrology software, multisensor measurement execution, and interoperability across machines and technologies. Together, these complementary capabilities create an end-to-end approach to quality.

Metrologic DCS is designed to close the quality loop by seamlessly connecting measurement, analysis, and decision-making across the entire manufacturing process. Instead of isolated inspections, manufacturers gain a continuous, data-driven quality workflow fully embedded in the digital thread-enabling advanced automation, faster root-cause analysis, and effective use of AI-driven tools.

"Metrologic DCS is more than a name change," said Benoit Perrin, President, Metrologic DCS. "It is a strong commitment to build on the combined strengths of Metrologic and DCS to deliver next-generation digital quality solutions that make manufacturing simpler, faster, and more efficient, leveraging the full potential of AI."

Metrologic DCS offers a unified, technology-agnostic quality software suite that connects all metrology data across sensors, machines, and production stages, into a single, real-time quality loop. The platform combines universal 3D measurement execution, advanced dimensional and variation analysis, and quality process control to transform raw data into actionable insights.

"The result: manufacturers can detect, understand, and correct quality issues earlier, reduce scrap and rework, shorten time to decision, and improve overall production performance," said a company spokesperson.

Metrologic DCS offers a comprehensive product and services portfolio that directly links measurement results to industrial processes. By enabling closed-loop management of design, inspection, and production, the company helps manufacturers ensure compliance while continuously optimizing performance across industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy, and industrial equipment.
