DN Solutions America Earns CMMC Level 2 Certification

DN Solutions announced that its U.S. subsidiary, DN Solutions America (DNSA), has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2, a cybersecurity certification established by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The certification confirms that DNSA meets key cybersecurity requirements for companies participating in the U.S. defense supply chain and is believed to be the first company headquartered in Korea to achieve CMMC Level 2 certification.

CMMC was developed by the U.S. DoD to verify and strengthen cybersecurity practices across the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), the broad network of organizations that support U.S. military and defense programs. The framework applies not only to major defense contractors, but also to component suppliers, materials providers, manufacturing equipment companies, software vendors, and other businesses participating in defense-related projects. As cyber threats against defense supply chains continue to increase, the U.S. government has introduced increasingly stringent security requirements throughout the ecosystem.

The CMMC Level 2 certification obtained by DNSA is a critical certification level designed to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), sensitive information used in defense programs that requires safeguarding under federal regulations. While CUI is not classified information, it may include engineering drawings, technical documentation, manufacturing and quality data, supply chain information, and other sensitive materials related to national security. CMMC Level 2 is widely considered the standard most defense suppliers must meet to support U.S. defense programs.

To achieve certification, organizations must demonstrate compliance with all 110 security controls defined in NIST SP 800-171, the cybersecurity framework developed by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). DNSA successfully satisfied all requirements through an assessment conducted by an authorized CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO).

The certification reflects DNSA's ongoing commitment to cybersecurity, information protection, and regulatory compliance as a participant in the U.S. Defense Industrial Base. The DIB encompasses not only prime defense contractors, but also the manufacturing and technology companies that provide products, services, and expertise across the defense supply chain.

The achievement also builds on DN Solutions' broader cybersecurity strategy. In 2024, the company obtained ISO 27001, the internationally recognized standard for information security management systems. While ISO 27001 validates an organization's information security governance and management processes, CMMC Level 2 verifies the implementation of specific cybersecurity controls required by the U.S. defense sector. Achieving both certifications demonstrates DN Solutions' ability to meet global information security standards as well as the more rigorous and specialized requirements of the U.S. defense industry.

As DN Solutions continues expanding opportunities in advanced manufacturing sectors including aerospace, defense, and energy, the certification highlights the company's capabilities beyond machine tool technology and production expertise. It further demonstrates DN Solutions' strength in cybersecurity, information protection, and global compliance, which are becoming increasingly important requirements for customers operating in highly regulated industries.

The company plans to continue enhancing its cybersecurity infrastructure and supporting customers and partners across the U.S. defense supply chain while ensuring the secure protection of sensitive technical and manufacturing information.

"Trust and information security are becoming just as important as technological innovation in advanced manufacturing," said Daniel Medrea, CEO of DN Solutions America. "With CMMC Level 2 certification, we have demonstrated our commitment to meeting the cybersecurity expectations of the U.S. defense industry. We will continue to strengthen our cybersecurity capabilities and serve as a trusted partner to customers across the defense and advanced manufacturing sectors."
