Murphy Named Executive Director of Aerospace Components Manufacturers

Paul M. Murphy

Paul M. Murphy, a veteran Connecticut manufacturing executive, has been named Executive Director of the Aerospace Components Manufacturers (ACM).

ACM is an organization made up of about 120 smaller and mid-sized companies in Connecticut and southwestern Massachusetts. Murphy succeeds Allen Samuel, who is transitioning to a part-time role after leading ACM for 18 years.

Until he retired in August 2017, Murphy was president of Farmington-based Mallory Industries, which produces complex components and assemblies for the aerospace sector. He has also held senior-level positions with other Connecticut aerospace manufacturers, including GKN Aerospace, AGC Inc., EDAC Technologies, Sterling Machine Co. and Stowe Machine Co. He also held an ownership stake in Precision Speed Manufacturing.

Active in his profession, Murphy has been a board member and president of ACM, chairman of the Advanced Manufacturing Employer Partnership and a member of the Asnuntuck Community College Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center advisory board.
