Busche Launches CNC Machining Facility, Earns Quality Award

Nexteer Senior Supplier Quality Engineer Fred Bolger recently made a visit to the Busche Performance Group Plant 7 in Kendallville, IN, to present the Nexteer 2017 Perfect Quality Award.

Busche Performance Group, Inc., a vertically integrated casting and machining supplier of components, will launch a state of the art CNC machining facility in Edon, OH, at an existing facility located at 507 W. Indiana Street. It will use a neighboring site located at 201 LeAnn Drive as a warehouse.

Busche provides design and manufacturing of complex and safety-critical aluminum castings and associated precision CNC machining found in automotive systems such as chassis, suspension, engine and driveline, along with agricultural, construction, industrial and refrigeration markets. Busche's annual revenues are approaching $400 million, and the company employs nearly 1,500 people in 15 facilities in Indiana, Michigan, Alabama and Ramos, Mexico.

According to Giran Kunkel, Busche Director of Facilities, Safety and Environmental Services, the planned renovation of the building will include a new roof, installation of all new HVAC units and a complete overhaul of the interior and exterior.

Nick A. Busche, Founder/CEO/President of Busche, said, "This is the 16th facility for Busche and we are proud to christen the newest member of the Busche organization, Busche Edon. We have 38 CNC machining centers slated to be moved into the facility starting as early as April. The first CNC machining line is expected to be in production by mid-June and will be producing components for household appliances. We have three lines supporting the auto/truck industry, which will be ramping up between July 2018 and May of 2019. The four programs will require three full-time shifts of 29 CNC production machining associates each, for a total of 87 direct positions along with a talented support team of managers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, quality techs, shipping and receiving personnel, maintenance technicians and administrative support. We believe the plant will ultimately employee nearly 125 Busche team members."

Nexteer 2017 Perfect Quality Award

Nexteer Senior Supplier Quality Engineer Fred Bolger recently made a visit to the Busche Performance Group Plant 7 in Kendallville, IN, to present the Nexteer 2017 Perfect Quality Award.

This award was earned by Busche for zero problem cases in 2017. Problem cases are corrective actions that are issued to a supplier for shipping non-conforming product to Nexteer. Busche supplies Nexteer with steering shafts from Kendallville Plant 7 and valve housings from Albion Plant 8.

This is the second top supplier award Busche has earned for 2017 from two different industries. "Awards such as this show the hard work and dedication by all Busche employees to be a top performing supplier to our customer base," said a company spokesperson.
