European Built, Multi-Tasking 2-5 Axis Turning Centers
January 1, 2018
Toolmex Lathes, the exclusive U.S. importer for TUR Flat Bed European built lathes, has announced the newest generation of 2-5 axis slant bed multitasking centers from FAT-Haco. These European lathes - models FTC700, FTM700 and FTM1000 - are designed to automate the production of very large (dia and length) components.
They featuring modular design, high angle beds and choices of: turning diameters (18"-39") over cross slide, longer between centers (78"-491" bc), greater load capacities (6,000-16,500 lbs. bc, or up to 25,300 lbs. with steadies) and large spindle bores (4.1"-17.7"). These 60° or 70° slant bed designs allow for easier load/unload, better chip evacuation and more swing OCS (larger parts). The modular design allows for maximum sizes, bores, part weights and technologies. The FTM series offers up to 5 axes (B head) with ATC for true one set-up production. FTM massive Meehanite grade castings reduce vibration, hold tighter tolerances and extend the service life of the lathe.
Key FTC-FTM slant bed features and benefits:
- Wide range of capacities, options and technology for large horizontal parts
- Enhanced rigidity and heavier load capacity options
- FTM enhanced operator access to work and tooling: faster set-ups, easier loading and unloading
- FTM offers 2-5 axes (X, Z, Y, C and B) for 27" or 39" OCS x7'-41'bc or the smaller FTC offers 2-4 axes for 19" OCSx5'-16.5' bc
- Enhanced European design, components and flexibility
- Siemens 840Dsl or FANUC 0iTF or 30i series control
- Built with many German components: Siemens CNC, Sauter turrets, Beka lubrication, SMW Autoblok steadies, etc.
- Wider range of options: 2-5 axes, enhanced bc choice, 9-12 station turrets, ATC, hydraulic chucks and steadies, second turret and cross slide, auto doors, auto tool setter, VDI or Capto tooling, sub-spindle, boring bar holders and changers, etc.
- Designed for precision yet heavy work; robust construction, FTM 39"x177" bc ~ 78,000 lbs.
TUR/FTM European CNC lathes are designed for demanding industry applications including: power generation, transportation, machinery manufacturing, print, oil and gas, foundry, agriculture, steel and mining.
