Compact MCC 800 HMC

BURKHARDT+WEBER recently introduced a new MCC 630 horizontal machining center (HMC) with 1,100 x 900 x 1,100 mm (43.3 x 35.4 x 43.3") axis travel and with pallet sizes up to 630 x 800 mm (24.8 x 31.5 in). Compact and powerful with up-to-date technology, this new machine is addressing 4-axis and 5-axis needs for work envelops with up 1,100 mm (43.3") swing and 1,300 mm (51.2") part heights. The machine fits most machining applications and materials in all industries using metalcutting machinery.

This MCC line is now complemented with a larger model, the MCC 800 HMC, also available in 4-axis and 5-axis execution. This larger machine has axis travels of up to 1,400 x 1,200 x 1600 mm (55.1 x 47.2 x 63.0") in X-, Y- and Z-axis and features pallet sizes up to 800 x 1,000 mm (31.5 x 39.4"). The advantages of an easy access twin pallet make it unique and also suitable for loading via overhead crane or overhead gantry without compromising payloads up to 2,500 kg (5,500 lbs.) per pallet. "The MCC 800 integrates all benefits of the larger BW machines, such as accuracy, high stiffness and reliability and it is economical," said a company spokesperson.

Two MCC 800 4-axis models cover the high speed uses with a 300 Nm, 30 kW (221 ft-lb, 40 HP) motor spindle, (100% duty rated) and high torque requirements are satisfied with a 1,400 Nm, 41 kW (959 ft-lb, 55 HP) motor spindle (100% duty rated), both with speed ranges up to 10,000 RPM.

The MCC 800 5-axis model features a new rigid, highly dynamic A-axis concept with a 30 kW (40 HP) motor spindle (100% duty rated). Developed by BW, the A-axis has a large swivel range for maximum flexibility. It is available with up to 10,000 RPM and has a low-end torque of 300 Nm.
