The DMG MORI NHX 6300, with high rigidity construction, is designed exclusively for No. 50 taper spindles. It is equipped with a diverse range of functions and is suited to a variety of industries.
The optional direct drive table (DDM) provides up to 100 RPM for positioning times of 0.73 sec. for the NHX 4000 2nd Generation, or 0.94 sec. for the NHX 5000 2nd Generation.
Equipped with a 15,000 RPM spindle in standard versions and CELOS with MAPPS V on Mitsubishi, the NHX 4000, NHX 5000 and NHX 6300 horizontal machining centers (HMCs) from DMG MORI make up a comprehensive line for single part manufacturing on through serial production. The NHX 4000 2nd Generation and NHX 5000 2nd Generation continue in the footsteps of the NHX 4000.
The NHX 5000 2nd Generation is ideally suited for the manufacture of complex and demanding components as well as serial production, for example in the automotive industry or machine and plant engineering. Together with its smaller sister machine-the NHX 4000 2nd Generation-the NHX series, made in Davis, CA, now features a direct drive table (DDM technology) with speeds of up to 100 RPM as option and direct distance measurement systems from MAGNESCALE in all axes in its standard versions. The construction of the machines has also been optimized with regard to the use of shorter tools. The distance from the spindle nose to the center of the pallet has been minimized to 2.8", providing longer tool service life and higher process stability.
The range of workpieces that can be handled by the 4-pallet NHX 4000 2nd Generation includes parts with diameters of up to o24.8" and heights of 35.4". It features a 22" x 22" x 26" (XYZ) work area. NHX 5000 2nd Generation includes a 29" x 29" x 35" work area and has space for workpieces with heights of up to 39" and widths of o31".
The rapid traverse rate is 2,362.2 IPM in the standard version with acceleration rates of up to 1.2 g. Chip-to-chip times are 2.2 seconds and the DDM with a speed of up to 100 RPM provides short positioning times.
Spindle speeds are 15,000 RPM with a torque of 152.7 ft-lbs. in the standard version. The modular building blocks of the new NHX models also include a high-speed version that achieves a speed of up to 20,000 RPM.
The DMG MORI design with CELOS and MAPPS provide user-friendliness. CELOS from DMG MORI simplifies and accelerates the process from the idea to the finished product, while CELOS APPs enable consistent management, documentation and visualization of job, process and machine data. CELOS also links workshop and higher-level company structures, creating the basis for consistent digitalized and paperless production.
CELOS is compatible with PPS and ERP systems; it can be networked with CAD/CAM applications and is ready for CELOS APP expansions. CELOS provides Industry 4.0 capabilities and provides a link between high-tech from DMG MORI and ad-hoc networked, decentralized, real time-based and self-optimizing production and logistics systems.
With the variety of available options DMG MORI customers can adapt the NHX 4000 2nd Generation and NHX 5000 2nd Generation to meet specific needs. These options also include automation solutions, such as a round pallet pool system (RPP) featuring low space requirement and various set-up features. The DMG MORI systems also offer the option of integrating a carrier pallet pool system (CPP) or a linear pallet pool system (LPP).
The NHX 6300, with high rigidity construction, is designed exclusively for No. 50 taper spindles. The models are equipped with a range of functions and suited to a variety of industries, including automotive and construction.
The spindle has been optimized through structural analysis. The spindle bearing I.D. was increased to achieve high rigidity, while the spindle O.D. was reduced to offer better access to the workpiece and fixtures. The spindle drive uses direct drive spindle (DDS) motor gearless technology to bring out its full power at all speeds. Spindle options include 8,000 RPM (40 HP), high-torque 8,000 RPM (50 HP) and high-speed 15,000 RPM (40 HP).
The optional rotary table uses a high-speed rotary axis drive system DDM that achieves zero backlash while maintaining high precision with minimum indexing angle of 0.001. The DDM transmits the drive power directly to the rotary axis, delivering high performance in machining that requires high-speed indexing and high-precision positioning.
The smooth, high-speed indexing, ring type magazine (60-tool specification) is offered as standard. Three types of magazines (ring type, chain type and rack type) are available with a maximum tool storage capacity of up to 330, so the customers can choose the one that best suits their production needs.
The NHX 6300 offers a pallet with a size of 24.8 x 24.8" and a maximum loading capacity of 3,300 lbs. In addition, the NHX Series provides various solutions to diversifying production issues for customers. For example, three types of transfer systems are offered according to the number of lots or workpiece types, followed by customized solutions best fit for each customer's needs (RPP/CPP/LPP).
These solutions include:
- Round Pallet Pool System (RPP) offering space savings
- Carrier Pallet Pool System (CPP) features simple construction provided in predefined packages. For optimal system configuration, the customer can select from eight packages.
- Linear Pallet Pool System (LPP) can be equipped with multi-level pallet racks, providing a high level of automation. The system construction can also be customized for optimum productivity and operation.
