Safety Gains Through Integrated Predictive Analytics

Intelex Technologies has debuted its new mobile platform, Intelex Mobile. The new technology combines the latest capabilities in social interactions and gamification with prescriptive, data-driven insights. "Optimized for mobile use, the new application is designed for front-line workers, thereby reducing, predicting and preventing workplace accidents," said a company spokesperson.

With Intelex Mobile, workers can spot safety or non-compliance issues, quickly take a snapshot directly on their mobile device and report it within seconds, sending real-time data directly to their organizations' EHSQ managers.

"Our goal has always been to make safety a top priority for frontline workers as well as an integral part of company culture," Robin Hopper, SVP of Product Management at Intelex said. "This enhanced mobile capability will bring ease-of-use and convenience to a space that is in desperate need of a major facelift. These types of applications can no longer be viewed as a luxury but instead a must-have for safety-conscious companies."

Intelex Mobile is specifically designed to drive both predictive and proactive safety campaigns. The platform allows organizations to engage their workforces to capture critical and timely safety data, enabling real-time risk assessment leading to fewer incidents. The more often employees use Intelex Mobile, the more data their organizations can collect on their safety needs. With Intelex, safety management professionals are immediately alerted to potential threats and dangerous situations, making it possible to implement controls and avoid potential issues.

"For years, EHSQ technology has been lagging behind the vision that innovative safety professionals have been trying to execute," said Vijay Gudivaka, CEO of E2 ManageTech, the largest specialist sustainability and EHSQ Strategy and Technology services firm. "Intelex has taken tremendous strides in closing that gap by providing a technology vision that takes this industry well into the future. As a leading Intelex implementation partner, we are excited by the possibilities that mobile and predictive analytics present in improving the culture, usage, employee engagement, and business value of the transformational programs we implement."

Among the features that make this technology suitable for the mobile workforce:

  • Access to phone camera directly from the app
  • User experience built for the specific needs of users in the field
  • Speech to text for those unable to type during a job
  • Real time alerts & notifications of a dangerous situation
  • Reporting gamification to encourage and increase engagement.

"Most frontline employees are desk-less with limited online access to a computer, meaning they do not have easy access to safety procedures, training information or incident data," Hopper added. "Unfortunately, these people are also at the most risk. We designed Intelex Mobile to put safety back in frontline workers' hands, giving them more power to control the environment they work in and providing executives with the information they need to implement necessary change rather than react after an incident has occurred."
