Mate offers its Premia Sharpening System for automated, precision sharpening of all popular punch press tooling styles.
Premia's innovative touch screen interface simplifies all tool set-up and maintenance operations. Everything is menu-driven, with three standard programs for small, medium and large tools, plus two more that are completely customizable. These programs are designed for consistency, no matter who operates the machine. If an operator prefers manual operation, there is Premia's manual mode. For maximum operator versatility, the interface allows a choice of language and measurement units. The software interface is updatable via a USB port or SD card.
Operation is simple, starting with the universal fixture that accommodates all tooling styles including thick turret, Trumpf style, Murata Wiedemann, Multi Tool, thin turret, XMT and Salvagnini. All the operator needs to do is insert the tool in the universal fixture, select the appropriate program from the menu, press "Start" and Premia sharpens the tool without assistance. The software even provides an estimated time to completion. When done, Premia shuts off automatically.
For additional flexibility, Premia has a large 12.60-inch (320.04 mm) rotary table to sharpen the largest diameter tools. The table angle is also adjustable from 0° to 12° to allow shears (including rooftop and Trumpf-style whisper) to be ground on punches for optimal punching efficiency.
Premia includes a solid surface 7.8-inch (200 mm) CBN grinding wheel without perpendicular slots. Premia's coolant flow system directs coolant automatically through the grinding wheel. A dual stage filtering process has magnetic swarf retention (MSR).
