Improving Logistics Processes with Tower Storage Systems

Architectural Grille was looking for an automated storage solution that would suit the grating manufacturer's wide variety of materials.

The clearly organized material stock allows the user to process pending orders quickly due to short access times.

Architectural Grille is a long-standing manufacturer of customized gratings crafted from aluminum, brass, bronze, steel and stainless steel with nearly 80 years of expertise. This family-owned enterprise specializes in delivering top-tier ventilation grilles of all dimensions to clients in the construction, interior design and industrial realms. However, their offerings extend beyond these sectors, catering also to private residences and art enthusiasts seeking bespoke indoor and outdoor solutions.

Previously grappling with an inefficient storage set-up that consumed considerable space and hindered ergonomic and economic efficiency, Architectural Grille sought a transformative solution. Anthony Giumenta Sr., along with his sons Anthony and Stephen, encountered KASTO's tower storage systems at a trade show, sparking their interest in an automated remedy.

After a meticulous assessment of their diverse requirements, KASTO proposed the implementation of a total of five tower storage systems. This comprised four KASTOecostore 3.0 units tailored for sheets of varying sizes and materials, alongside one double-sided UNITOWER 2.0 dedicated to accommodating long goods spanning from 6' to 21' in length. Each of the four compact KASTOecostore towers stands at a height of 8 m, aptly suited for dimensions up to 5' x 10' or 5' x 13'. Notably adaptable to a wide array of materials, these towers align with Architectural Grille's multifaceted inventory. Similarly, the UNITOWER system offers a space-efficient and ergonomic solution for storing long goods, ensuring organized retrieval and swift processing of orders.

Stephen Giumenta, Managing Director, said, "With KASTO's storage solutions, our logistics processes have significantly improved, enhancing efficiency and safety at our workstations."
