Cylindrical 4-Axis Receiver



Pinpoint Laser Systems has introduced a Microgage that provides useful information for evaluating and correcting machinery alignment problems. The Microgage measures two linear axes, X- and Y-, and their two angular components, pitch and yaw. The two linear axes show how well machinery is aligned along a common centerline, and the angular readouts show if parallelism problems are present.

This Microgage is suitable for aligning lathes, turning centers and spindles, as well as bores, rams and pistons, injection molding machinery and drive shafts. Paired with the company's digital Microgage display, the provides the user with precise linear and angular readings in an intuitive and easy to use alignment system.

The method of operation is simple. A narrow laser beam provides a measuring reference line, and the Microgage measures where this laser line lands on an internal detector and determines the position of a machine or subassembly relative to this laser reference beam. This receiver will operate over distances of 100' or more and delivers a measuring precision of 0.0005" and 0.005°-suitable for demanding industrial alignment applications.

The Laser Microgage system along with this new receiver enables plan engineers and manufacturing personnel to perform precise measuring and alignment so that they can monitor and optimize their own production machinery and equipment. They can use the tool for routine and complex measuring and alignment tasks.
