Large-Sized Wire EDM Models

EDM manufacturer, Sodick, has released two new models of Wire EDM - the ALN800G and ALN800GH. These two additions to the high-performance ALN series are designed to accommodate extra-large work - with travels up to 31.5" x 23.6" x 31.5" XYZ. "The ALN800G and ALN800GH offer the same next-generation generator and control as the other models in the ALN series, allowing it to achieve unsurpassed accuracy and speed on large parts," said a Sodick spokesperson.
Despite its size, the ALN800G offers a three-sided automatic drop tank for easy set-up, even with a crane. Likewise, the high-column ALN800GH offers Z-heights measuring 31.5" (800 mm). "Together, these next-generation machines revolutionize large part manufacturing, opening new doors for precision manufacturing at nearly any size," said a company spokesperson.
The ALN800G and ALN800GH come standard with rigid linear motor drives for friction-free machining, as well as a ceramic workspace capable of dampening thermal distortion.
