Speed Lock 6" Precision Vise
February 1, 2014
The Winn Speed Lock vise is an angle lock machine vise featuring 30 second vise jaw change time.
"The Speed Lock is unique in that the vise's jaws are locked into the mounting blocks by using a round nut and a standard 1/2 inch socket head cap screw," said a company spokesperson. "The fixed and movable mounting blocks have holes in them to accept a round jaw nut that holds the vise jaw to the mounting block with a standard socket head cap screw. To remove the vise jaws, the user only has to back off the holding cap screws by a quarter to a half of a turn and the vise jaw can be easily lifted up out of the mounting block and replaced with another vise jaw. The round jaw nuts and cap screws stay attached to the vise jaw when it is not is use.
"The Speed Lock vise does not reduce the travel of the movable vise jaw and does not change the size opening of the vise like some other quick change vise jaws. The Speed Lock vise allows the vise jaws to be mounted on the inside or the outside of the vise's jaw mounting blocks, on both the fixed and movable block.
"Because the Speed Lock vise uses the same hole pattern as most angle lock vises the user is able to use existing / legacy custom vise jaws by simply adding a set of round nuts and cap screws to them."
