Expanded Bed Mills Product Line

Summit Machine Tool LLC has offered metalcutting equipment to customers for over 60 years. To better serve customers in the ever-changing market, Summit has added more models and options to its vertical bed mill product line.

Summit now offers a more versatile option to the Bed Mills line with the EVS-760 models. These machines are available in the manual version (EVS-760B) with 3-axis digital readouts or the CNC version (SC EVS-760B) featuring the Fagor 8058 CNC control. The Fagor 8058 control system is versatile due to its Dual Operating System. It is a powerful ISO G-code control system in one mode and icon conversational programming with highly interactive graphics in the other mode, the company reported. This makes complex tasks easy to program regardless of the operator's experience level.

SUMMIT EVS series 760-B vertical bed mills offer high production accuracy due to their heavy construction and innovative design. The wide range of speeds and feeds makes these vertical bed mills suited for job, production, repair and tool and die shops.

The alloy steel main spindle is thermally treated and precision ground, then fixed on high-accuracy bearings. The saddle assembly travels on precision ground box-ways, providing rigidity for large-capacity table loads.

This machine also has an automatic lube system that provides consistent lubrication to the guideways. Changing feeds and speeds is easy and efficient and, combined with centralized operator controls, virtually uninterrupted operation is possible.
