A5 combined oil mist and oil smoke filter
The A5 is designed to be compact yet efficient.
The patented Absolent filter cassettes with Catch & Release and TFS-Tilted Filter System is self-draining and maintenance-free for up to five years. Total filtration efficiency is at least 99.97% for all particles.
Intelligent features include electronic display of pressure drop, operating hours and filter status, plus alarm signal for warning messages. Energy efficiency is provided via the frequency-controlled air volume control with pressure regulator and EC fan.
Absolent offers its filter unit A5, the second filter in the Aline range following the previously released A10. Like the A10, the A5 is a combined oil mist and oil smoke filter, but is adapted for smaller machine tools that are running high speeds with high coolant pressures.
A5 consists of four filter stages. Three of them are supplied with the patented Absolent Catch & Release function, which normally allows for at least one year of maintenance-free operation, even when the machine is running 24/7. The final filter stage is a HEPA H13, which helps ensure that the filtered air is free from oil particles. "At full capacity, the A5 handles over 1.5 barrels of oil every year and just a teaspoon of the oil is let out into the air," said a company spokesperson.
The A5 is equipped with an energy efficient EC fan that increases its speed to adjust the air flow when the door of the machine is opened. This way the contaminated air is kept inside the machine and the operator is protected. When the machine door closes, the fan decreases its speed. This function is called EcoDrive.
A5 is controlled and monitored by the handheld electronic device Acontrol. It continuously displays information about the pressure drop at each filter stage, running hours, fan speed and more. The settings can be altered right from the hand unit.
