PhotoMachining Appoints Laser Applications Engineer

PhotoMachining, Inc. has appointed Mathew Hannon as its new Laser Applications Engineer, based at the company's headquarters in Pelham, NH. Hannon's primary objective is to service the expanding business opportunities for laser micromachining contract manufacturing and system sales.

"Hannon has many years of R&D and laser micromachining experience having worked for companies such as IPG Microsystems, JPSA and XSil," said a company spokesperson.

"We are pleased to welcome Mat to our team at PhotoMachining," said Ronald Schaeffer, CEO of PhotoMachining. "His experience in laser process development using the latest techniques and newest class of Picosecond and Femtosecond lasers is exactly what we are looking for in a Laser Applications Engineer as we continue the rapid growth of our business."John O'Connell, President of PhotoMachining, added, "Mat's experience fits well with our current core competencies and with our plans to expand our USP laser processing capabilities."

Mat Hannon will be in charge of the company's new Lumentum 50W PicoBlade laser. Hannon commented, "This laser has more than double the output power of any of our other USP lasers in the applications lab and gives us some exciting new capabilities."
