Venture Plastics Ohio Plant Expands Capabilities

To meet growing customer demand and stay ahead of market trends, Venture Plastics has expanded its Newton Falls, OH, plant with the addition of a Nissei 950-ton injection molding machine and Zeiss O-Inspect 543 inspection system.

The installed Nissei 950-ton press is equipped with Yushin Automation and features a 600L injection unit with a 112 mm screw and a 210-oz. shot capacity, designed to support customers in the power backup and other key industries. This brings the total number of presses at the Newton Falls plant to 19, with capacities ranging from 55 to 1,440 tons.

To further enhance quality control, the Zeiss O-Inspect 543 was added, combining tactile probing precision with advanced optical measurement technology. This equipment offers several key features:

  • The O-Inspect 543 can handle parts of various sizes with a measuring range of 800 mm x 600 mm x 300 mm (31.5" x 23.6" x 11.8").
  • It is suited for applications in aerospace, automotive and medical fields.
  • The Zeiss VAST XXT tactile probing head has a minimum scanning force of 0.92 g, making it suitable for delicate parts. It also supports stylus heads as small as 40 µm.
  • A powerful optical sensor with up to 12x magnification provides increased clarity and minimal distortion.
  • The machine's versatile lighting options make it suitable for parts of different colors, textures and finishes.

"We are grateful for our dedicated employees and the trust our customers place in our capabilities," said Alan Schultice, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Venture Plastics. "This expansion allows us to better serve the growing demand, particularly in the battery sector, which is seeing rapid growth due to the electrification of vehicles and renewable energy advancements."

Schultice also highlighted the success Venture Plastics has experienced in its El Paso, TX, facility following the installation of a Zeiss Mass Accura CMM machine last year, which prompted the decision to add the Zeiss O-Inspect 543 in Newton Falls.

Venture Plastics serves a wide range of markets from both facilities, including transportation, agriculture, appliances, consumer goods, power backup, fuel delivery, telecommunications, rail, food preparation, point-of-purchase and medical sectors.

With 82,000 sq. ft. of space in Newton Falls-including 57,000 square feet dedicated to molding, engineering and sales operations and 25,000 sq. ft. for warehousing-and 60,000 sq. ft. in El Paso for molding and warehousing, Venture Plastics is equipped to meet increasing customer demands.

Celebrating 55 years of business, Venture Plastics, Inc. was founded on October 21, 1969, in Warren, OH, and is ISO/IATF 16949 certified.
