Robotic Platform for Laser Based Microfabrication Applications

BOLD Laser Automation, Inc. has announced the recent shipment of an LPF-UR5P. The flagship LPF product line is designed for cost effective domestic laser-based process applications.

The LPF-UR5P Series (Laser Precision Fabricator/UR Cobot 5/Pallet System) includes options for laser drilling, trimming, welding, marking and laser soldering. With the UR robot part placement of ±0.030 mm (±0.0012"), the system is suitable for process automation. With onboard or remote camera alignment options, an assembly to be processed can be picked up, aligned and inserted into a processing fixture automatically. With onboard IO and PLC programming, simple clamping or fixturing tools can be added.

The LPF-UR platform can utilize full component assembly automation, or a basic pallet system can provide opportunities for scaling up an application without incurring increased labor costs. With automated vision tools, the LPF-UR platform can perform human-type precision alignment tasks such as orienting parts and loading into fixturing.

BOLD Laser Automation offers the LPF-UR platform to clients with existing laser systems. By seamlessly retrofitting to the laser controls, the solution preserves the customer's existing capital investment.
